The camera mount part is made from bar stock aluminum and it machined nicely with no rough edges at all, in fact if you strike the middle with your fingernail it will sound like a tuning fork. Here is a picture of the assembled ProPrompter Wing. Here are my thoughts on the hardware and software.

The ProPrompter iPhone/iTouch App was $9.99 ($10.80 with tax) from the iTunes store, again most product reviews said this was going to be free, but being in the software business, I understand there are costs involved even if delivery of goods is electronic. This pricing was not the $99 advertised in the many product reviews I read about. The ProPrompter Wing was $129 with another $9.06 shipping fee for a total cost of $138.06. The product they created was the ProPrompter Wing and a ProPrompter iPhone/iTouch App. Recently they created a lower end product for some of the video bloggers out there. They made teleprompters, but for more higher end video production. Through reading several video related blogs, I ended up coming across products from Bodelin Technologies. This sent me searching for some of the the teleprompter solutions out there. One of the things I struggled with was reading from a script for the audio podcasts and now that I’m doing video, it was even harder to scroll through a document while being on camera. Retails for US$495 and NAB show special of US$395.I create corporate technical education in my daytime job (screencasts and podcasts) and recently started getting into videocasts. ProPrompter software included and fits any camera with a tripod mount. Retail is US$995, but NAB show special is US$695.You can also purchase a ProPrompter Wing with the new 7” LCD.

Like all in-the-lens ProPrompters, the new ProPrompter ProMag comes with the ProPrompter patented hood, studio quality beam splitter glass, anti-reflection hood, iPhone/mobile device clip, ProPrompter software for iPhone (free download from the App Store) plus 1 year subscription to the ProPrompter Producer site, for unlimited script uploads and downloads, and packed in a custom military grade Storm Case. This new model is called the ProPrompter ProMag. You can also use your iPhone or iPod touch with the award-winning in-the-lens mobile ProPrompter with a magnifier to make the iPhone screen appear twice its size.

The ProPrompter Wing with the mobility clip to hold your iPhone, iPod touch or Pocket PC retails for $129, but the NAB show special is US$99.
Increase the font size in the ProPrompter software settings, and you can easily read your script from as far back as 15 feet. Stand back a few feet, looking only at the iPhone script, and it will appear as if you are looking at the lens. You simply place your iPhone or iPod touch in a secure clip that holds it in landscape mode directly next to the lens. Made of high-grade aircraft aluminum, the ProPrompter Wing attaches to the tripod mount of any camera.

ProPrompter software is expected to be available as a free download in the Apple App Store by NAB on April 20, and the aluminum ProPrompter Wing Mount costs US$130 to attach the iPhone to the tripod mount of any camera. It features landscape mode, smooth scrolling, seven speed levels with on the fly adjustment, unlimited script capacity, a wide variety of fonts and font sizes, and background colors, excellent readability in bright sunlight, looping, recue, mirroring for use with the ProPrompter in-lens teleprompter and an extensive help menu. ApAfter being swamped with requests at NAB 2008 to use the ProPrompter Pocket PC with an iPhone or iPod touch, Bodelin has done just that.
